About the Role:

SME has new full-time positions for

entry-level to mid-level Civil Engineers

in our Sewall Engineering office in Bangor, Maine and our Sevee \& Maher Engineers office in Cumberland, Maine to support our land development projects including municipal infrastructure and community resiliency, commercial development, coastal stabilization, renewable energy and utility projects, industrial, and residential developments. The combination of Sewall’s legacy and expertise in civil engineering and survey alongside SME’s multidisciplinary suite of services offers a strong collection of experience and an incredible opportunity for career growth for the right individuals, all within one company. Together, our core philosophy is to bring exceptional value to every client’s project by delivering high-quality, timely services at competitive rates.

Civil Engineer Responsibilities:

• Manage and design a diverse portfolio of projects
• Perform engineering design from preliminary to final design
• Spend time in the field to gain hands-on experience overseeing construction projects
• Establish relationships and communicate with clients
• Work closely with a project team to coordinate designs, manage workflow, and participate in project decisions
• Take advantage of meaningful opportunities to learn and grow toward your potential
• Be supported by experienced senior engineers who are invested in your success

Civil Engineer Qualifications:

• B.S. in Civil Engineering and 2\+ years of experience
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Demonstrate initiative to find answers and solve problems proactively
• Authorization to work in the U.S. required
• Strong oral and written communication skills
